Dr. Bernie Siegal is the author of the book, “Buddy’s Candle”. My great grandfather heard the rabbi say, “I wish I were God.” “Do you want to be God so you can change the bad into the good?” “No, I wouldn’t change anything. I want to be God so I can understand.” Remember our present problems are not new to mankind. Ninety percent of the natives of South America died when the explorers brought infectious diseases to their continent that they had no immunity to and forty per cent of Europeans died during plagues of the past.

I am often humbled by all that is beyond the obvious moment. Of course, what is beyond any obvious moment is anything and everything that we do not grasp or hold awareness of in any unfolding moment. Each moment is so rich with context, texture, lessons and experience. Each moment has such meaning and purpose.

In this world there will always be some people who, for whatever constellation of reasons, need to tear down others in order to feel okay about themselves. There will always be people that cross our paths to criticize us and to attempt to dump a chunk of their own lostness, brokenness, and negativity upon us.

What does unattended sorrow look like? It is like a low-grade fever; it troubles our sleep and drains away our days; it scatters intuition and creates an underlying anxiety; it sours the eye and leaves a distaste in the mouth; it’s the vague uncertainty that permeates every thought before every action; it’s the heart working [...]

There is, of course, a wonderful book out called "The Secret" that proclaims the wonders of the law of attraction. However, I think there is a much more important often ignored secret. What secret could I be talking about? The true secret of your life is not a well-kept secret actually. It is something that [...]

Enlightenment isn’t just that wonderous spiritual experience of transcending so much that boggs us down in everyday life. Enlightenment is not just about the attainment of the authentic self and the witnessing experience of the connection between that authentic self and one’s higher power. It is also about every day moments and what unfolds in those moments. More to the point enlightenment is an ever-unfolding process of continuely actively choosing to awaken, to increase your awareness, and to be involved.
