I was diagnosed as Borderline over 20 years ago now, and it has been mainly the last five years or so of my life that has seen me actually be able to follow a process of healing from BPD. I have very much done it...to a major extent, please know, it CAN be DONE!!
This is my review of "Lost In The Mirror".

"Lost In The Mirror", offers its readers something substantially intrinsic through Dr. Moskovitz's wonderfully compassionate and well written diary of what it is to be a borderline.
Dr. Moskovitz, has written a very indepth book on what it is and means to be borderline in a very straight forward way without the usual incumbant "jargon". This is a very humanistic book and it is SO fair to borderlines everywhere. It states the truth, pulls no punches, but is so affable that I was very moved in reading it.
There are quotes included at the beginning of each chapter. The one in Chapter two really captured my emotions, it quotes Elton John's Song, "Candle In the Wind", and the title of the Chapter is "Candles in The Wind". This is the chapter in which Dr. Moskovitz describes what it is to be borderline.
At the end of each chapter Dr. Moskovitz has included the personal experience of one of his patients which adds a very human and personal dimension to an already very exquistively empathetic and very borderline friendly book.
The book starts out with this sentence: "If you are a person with Borderline Personality Disorder, this book is written especially for you." (Pg 1)
The other outstanding feature of not only Dr. Moskovitz's book but his outlook as a clinician lies in the hope that he espouses that Borderlines can indeed heal and lead healthy lives.
This was clearly the most refreshing and informative read I have ever experienced on the subject of Borderline Personality Disorder, and I have basically read most of what there is to read on the subject over the years. This book is a must read for every Borderline who seeks to clearly understand the nature of their personality disorder and to glean from a professional the acknowledgement that healing is possible and that being Borderline does not have to carry with it the negatively stereotyped stigma that it has for all to long up until now.
I believe Dr. Moskovitz's brilliant Borderline book: "Lost In The Mirror", will blaze a new and enlightened trail on what it means to have Borderline Personality Disorder for those who are so affected, for those that love someone who has BPD and for those who seek to treat BPD patients/clients. "Lost In The Mirror", epitomizes and delivers the very essence of Borderline Personality Disorder in an clear; very easily understood and significant way.
