Self help is very beneficial to many for as many reasons as there are individuals partaking of self help. Author and Life Coach, A.J. Mahari strongly advocates for self help in the process of self improvement and healing.

There are many myths and there is much misinformation about verbal abuse. Verbal abuse is not anything to be taken lightly. Verbal abuse is abuse. You do not have to be hit to be abused. Verbal abuse has profound and long-lasting effects on self-esteem and on emotional and physical health. It needs to be taken seriously.

Abusers are impostors to the reality of who they are. They wear a the mask of charming when really they are insecure and controlling. Abusers wear the masks necessary to get their own way. Masks of charm, masks of rage, masks of caring, and masks of competence – all to hide who they are.

Those who are verbally, sexually, physically, and/or emotionally abused in childhood often end up in abusive relationships and either suffering more abuse or being abusive themselves. Why? Patterns and unresolved and unfinished business are two of the main reasons.

Are you in a toxic relationship? Are things chaotic, dramatic, with lots of conflict? Did you ever think love could be that complicated? Well, guess what, love is not really that complicated at all.

Radical Acceptance practice in Borderline Personality Disorder begins as a way to learn how to tolerate emotional distress and can progress to being implemented as a very effective way of coping in healthier ways that will lead to the actual soothing of what used to be emotional distress that felt intolerable.

Enlightenment unfolds in our lives when we are open to it. Enlightenment is often thought of as being only spiritual or as being religious. It is thought of as being something sought after consciously in ways that are new-age. The truth about enlightenment, in my opinion, is that it is available to us in very personal ways and in almost any situation. Enlightenment can be found in all areas of life and any and all life experience when we willing engage it in mindful and accepting ways.

The moment that is now is truly all we have at any given time. Each unfolding moment offers us ‘the power of now’. A personal power that many are either not aware of. A personal power that many are afraid to engage and take personal responsibility for. If we are not mindful of it – if we do not give it our full attention we can and will miss so much.

Loneliness is a pervasive, powerful, and purposeful experience. It is a teacher. of profound life lessons when we are willing to engage it. Loneliness is, on one level a universal experience. There is a collective experience, to some degree, by each and every living individual of what it means, from time to time, to be lonely.

Philosophy provides us with a framework and foundation from which to pursue needed and desired change in our lives. The very autonomy that philosophy can give us the freedom to discover and experience is feared by many. We want to be free of our unresolved issues and our pain or discomfort but we are often afraid to part with what is familiar long enough to experience something new.
