The loss of a beloved pet is a heart-wrenching experience that really, has been like no other loss for me. Each step of this grieving is so new to me. Mandy was the first dog I had from puppy-hood to her time of passing. I had other dogs in my past but as a kid my parents would give them to us and then take them away. The longest we had one of several dogs over my childhood was one year. Each and every one of those losses were very painful and yet I don’t think I had fully grieved them. I think with Mandy’s passing I have been grieving this loss with the stockpile of all of those other losses.
